Rob is a tertiary qualified mining engineer with 25 years experience in the development of remote area mining infrastructure, and greenfields mine start up in Australia. His roles have included overall site management at the Yandi, Koolan Island and Cockatoo Island iron ore mines, and most recently as Project Director for the $2.0 billion Karara magnetite project in Western Australia. As an executive in leading Australian contract mining groups HWE and NRW, Rob also oversaw the development and operation of numerous other iron ore and base metal (open pit and underground) mines in Australia, Indonesia and Guinea. Rob is currently on secondment to Atlas Iron Ltd.

Chris Parkinson is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience. Prior to joining Shaw River Manganese, Chris led the Perth corporate finance team of Grant Thornton, a global accounting and advisory organisation. He has worked with publicly listed companies in Australia and the United Kingdom and has extensive experience advising on capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions. Chris is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Chris Parkinson

Mr Allen Lance Govey
Operations Manager

Lance has 37 years experience in the minerals sector with wide ranging involvement in successful exploration and mining geology within Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Graduating from UNSW in 1975 with a BSc (Hons) degree and JCUNQ with an MSc in Mining and Exploration Geology, his early years were focussed on the copper and tin industries with CSR Minerals Division (Mt Gunson Copper Mine and PT Koba Tin respectively). In November 2011 Lance incorporated a private geological entity, BinEx Consulting, which he has operated till the present. He became a non-executive director of ASX listed SVC Group in March 2012 that has mineral interests in Zambia. From September 2012 Lance has taken on the role of Exploration Manager for Shaw River Manganese Limited.

Mr Noel O'Brien BE (Met), MBA, FAusIMM, MAICD
Group Metallurgist

Noel O'Brien has a broad technical and operational knowledge of processing, logistics and project delivery in the international minerals industry based on 36 years experience in Australia and Africa. He has specific expertise in the beneficiation and downstream processing of ores for the production of chrome and manganese ferroalloys, base metals, diamonds, uranium and precious metals. He has previously held executive management positions with WestNet Infrastructure Group, GHD, SNC-Lavalin and Pyromet and held senior operational positions with Anglo American/De Beers and Peko Mines NL.

Noel O'Brien

Mr Ashley Jones B.Sc (Hons) Geol, MAusIMM
Country Manager - Namibia

Mr Jones brings a diverse range of exploration, mine geology and management experience to Shaw River Manganese. Previous experience in identifying and quantifying resources will enable the company to asses and manage the potential for an economic discovery within their tenements and bring the Otjozondu project into production. Mr Jones has previously managed an Australian uranium resource project to pre-feasibility level giving him a broad range of cross disciple experience. His knowledge both in production and safety will ensure best practices are in place. He has been a Country Manager in Southern Africa since June 2008. Mr Jones graduated in 1997 with a BSc Hons in geology from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
